I have been waiting for something like this for a very long time. I have boxes of those special washers that are intended to slip over the shaft of an unused rivet for the purpose of a more secure connection. I'm here to tell you that they never work right. As you are crimping down on the rivet the washer will move causing the rivet head to snag on the washer rather than the drilled hole. The result is always a loose connection. As soon as there arrived I went out to my aluminum storage shed in the back yard and started to repair the roof that was torn off during a rainstorm. What would have normally taken me several hours and numerous repeats with the old washer and rivet method, only took me thirty minutes to re-attach the roof and then caulk around the holes. I tugged and tugged at the finished result and these new rivets would not budge. I also think the shaft shear point is higher than a standard rivet. It took more force to set these rivets which resulted in a tighter more secure connection.
