My new Hartke LH1000 bass amp came stock with a Sovtek 12AX7WA. Even after several hours of break-in it had a lot of crackle and hiss. I almost sent the amp back but I knew the crackle sound was a signature bad tube sound. Swapped it out for the Svetlana 12AX7. Much less noise. Zero crackle. Fairly warm. I'm much happier with the new tube and the amp!It's hard to rate the tube review between a 4 and a 5. I still have some minor noise issues but it may be my bass electronics or something else in the amp. I'm doing an electronics shielding job on the bass soon. If that solves the problem, I'll bump the review up to a 5.Bass: Five-year-old Schecter Diamond Series Stiletto Elite-5Amp: New Hartke LH1000Update 5/28/2016: The tube started crackling after maybe 30 hours of use. I did use adhesive copper foil to shield my bass electronics cavity and I grounded it but that didn't help much. Not sure if the popping is the tube or the amp though so I'm leaving it a 4 star rating.
