I was a little worried about the handle being able to hold the weight of 2 gallons of water but I’m glad to say that it is well built and is definitely strong enough. The wide mouth also makes it easy to clean. I plan on using it to get filtered water from the grocery store and wanted a glass container instead of plastic. $22 is much cheaper and easier than investing in water filtration system that I would have to purchase and maintain.

I have six of these and they have served me well I had a problem with one of them and the company promptly replaced it for me and it’s on its way. For this reason, I am upgrading my rating to five star.

This is a heavy duty glass jar that holds two gallons of whatever you want to put in it. It has a plastic screw-on lid with a silicone ring seal incorporated in it, so it is watertight. I haven't tested it to see if it is airtight also, but I will once I find another lid.I got this to use as a milk container connected directly to my homemade milking machine, so it will have to be airtight for the vacuum to work with it. I am pretty sure it will be because I've used smaller Mason jars with similar lid seals that worked just fine. Before I start drilling holes in the original lid I need to find a replacement lid. I couldn't find one through the manufacturer, so I've ordered a few kinds from Amazon based on the original lid measurements. If I can't find one I'll use this jar to hold sugar for my beehives, which I keep in large quantities.A final comment on the handle. The handle is connected to a thin, removable metal band that goes around the jar neck. The handle is a decent size and thickness, but I don't think I'd trust it to hold the weight of the jar plus 18 pounds of milk when full. Not a huge problem.Whatever you decide to do with this jar, I can recommend it.

I hope y’all can tell the true size difference with this beauty of a jar! The one on the left is also 2 gallons, but takes up so much more counter space than this tall, slender gal. Nothing against big girls though 😬🥰I brew 4, sometimes 6 gallons of kombucha at a time & the design of this jar is genius. Fits under my cabinet with plenty of room to spare. I’ll be replacing all my chunky girl jars with these. I value my counter space, so every inch counts 😅
