North Pole Cozy Cocoa Recipe
Gather the ingredients below.
Pour hot water, sugar, cocoa powder and salt into a large pot. Whisk over medium heat.
When everything is combined, add chocolate chips and whisk mixture until chocolate chips are melted.
Add milk and vanilla and whisk again. Serve with marshmallows or whipped cream!

Fun Facts About The Polar Express
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Polar Express, enjoy these fun facts about the book!
- The setting of the book is based on Van Allsburg’s childhood home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- The Pere Marquette 1225 train, now in Owosso, Michigan, was the inspiration for the story. As a child, Chris Van Allsburg played on the engine when it was on display, and to him, the number 1225 meant 12/25, Christmas Day!
- The real 1225 train inspired the animated train, and they recorded the 1225’s different locomotive sounds to use in the movie.
- Chris Van Allsburg said that The Polar Express was the easiest of his picture book manuscripts to write. He created only one draft and had to make only a few changes to the text.
- The Polar Express is done with oil pastels, and to get the night lighting just right, he mixed color complements (reds with greens, oranges with blues) to bring out the hues of colors in low light.
- Van Allsburg has an artistic connection to another Christmas classic — in 2014 he designed the sets for the Michigan Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker.

My children received this book for christmas and it reminded me so much of my childhood. I cry every time. This edition is beautiful. They loved the little ornament too!

Mi hijo ha enloquecido con el libro, se lo lleva a todas partes y no solo en invierno. Lo lee en el coche, de viaje, esperando al médico.... Como es pequeño ocupa poco en la mochila

Lo compramos para nuestro hijo de 3 años.. El ama la película así que lo adquirimos, pensamos que el tamaño era muy pequeño por algunas reseñas pero aún así lo adquirimos, pero oh sorpresa cuando llegó tiene un muy buen tamaño mucho más grande de lo que imagine y las imágenes muy parecidas a la película.. Ya no puedo esperar que llegue la navidad y ver su carita de sorpresa.

El libro está muy bonito, sus ilustraciones muy hermosas, y el detalle del colgante estuvo genial, mi hija lo amó. Lo único malo es que venía tan mal empacado, que se maltrató el forro que cubre el libro, y se raspó el sello dorado que tiene. Envíe mi queja y Amazon resolvió inmediatamente. Gracias.

I have to give this book 5 stars since it was the inspiration for my favorite Christmas movie of all time; it is meant as a bedtime story for children, only 32 pages, most of it filled with beautiful pastel pictures which I'm sure will delight toddlers and reads very well; it has a Christmas ornament inside and a link to a website where you can download an audio file of Liam Neeson reading the story; I'm sure kids will love to hear it over and over; as a grown up who saw the movie first, I have to tip my hat to Robert Zemeckis, Tom Hanks and the writers who expanded quite a bit and made it a much fuller, longer and magical Christmas tale; If you are a great fan of The Polar Express like me, I would suggest you buy: "The Art of The Polar Express", which is a jaw dropping 132 pages "making of"' filled with pictures from the movie as well as many characters and landscapes in different stages of development. All in all, a magical book for all!

What a gorgeous edition for celebrating 30th anniversary of the book. The size of the book is enormously large to demonstrate the beautiful artistry by the author. The full size illustrations are too good and very well depict the imaginary world.My son loved the movie of same title and watched it so many times that I thought of gifting this wonderful edition to him. And he was so thrilled to receive it, going through it 2-3 times on the day he got it.There is a small note from the author at the end of the book which is worth reading. As we grow up and start adjusting with the reality, we slowly start leaving behind the childhood imaginary world which once thrilled and entertained our lives. But there is always a train that would take us to that bygone days and help cherish the memories forever.There is a password in the book to download the audio book which has a melodious background symphony.
