This is a wonderful router. Of course, Tp-Link has been making good routers for many years and I have used several in the past. This router has the latest Wi-Fi 7 using three bands: 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz. These can give up to 5764MHz wireless connections on the 6 GHz band. It has a 5 GHz WAN connection, a 5 GHz Ethernet connection for gaming, and three 2.5 GHz Ethernet connections. I like the fast Ethernet and wireless connections. For gaming, this router has a dedicated game panel to monitor the game performance of the router. It includes optimizations for peak game performance. You can pair this with a very fast Internet connection for great games. It also can use a GPN server for faster game connections with lower latency. There is a “tether” app for my phone that lets me have complete control of the router. There is nice dancing color illumination on the front that has several patterns to choose from to add a nice decoration to your game room. One reason I really like this router is the Wi-Fi 7 twi-band capability that can use the full wireless capabilities of phones, tablets, and computers that are available now. The router has four antennas and does beam forming. It also supports EasyMesh for great connectivity even in a large house. It comes with basic security and parental controls and has additional security with a subscription. The router comes with a 30-day free trial of the HomeShield Security+ and full parental control subscription. I found this router was very easy to setup and configure using the “tether” app and with the browser on my computer.Additionally, I have noted that the US government is considering banning TP-Link routers for security concerns. All routers have similar concerns. I am comfortable using this router with a VPN and good password protection on my protected devices.

I replaced four mesh units with this one router, and it does a better job than all four combined. Some Highlights:The 6 GHz band is phenomenal, but remember that your end devices must also have that capability. This capability will do nothing without any 6Ghz-capable devices. The dual 2.5Gbs ports provide a lightning-fast back-end wired capability. I've connected my two Synology NAS units to the 2.5Gbs ports, and the throughput latency between my end devices and my NAS units has dropped to almost zero.Despite the hype of four antennas (see below), the unit does have good coverage. I measured the output signal with an oscilloscope; the signal is dead on frequency and produces a crisp output. I also measured the received waveform on a Software-Defined Radio; it was a clean signal with little distortion. Now the hype - Yes, all manufacturers produce hype, but as a 40 veteran of IT help desks, the hype went a bit overboard, so let me cut though the nonsense:- Four antennas are better than two are better than one: NO! It's not the number of antennas; it's the placement of the device that matters. Multiple antennas are only helpful when placed several wavelengths apart and aimed to transmit on different polarities. Multiple Antennas placed 5 inches apart do nothing except 'look cool'; antennas placed so close together can cause more problems than they solve. The polarity of the transmitted signals varies with each antenna, and some of the 180-degree out-of-phase signals will cancel each other. Additionally, most consumer-level devices do not have a separate transmitter for each antenna; a passive splitter is used. Splitters divide signal power, so you end up with four antennas, each with 25% power instead of one at full power.Lots of features brag about huge throughput for lightning-fast gaming. Yes, this unit does have superior throughput capability, but unless you are gaming with someone on the same router you are still at the mercy of your ISP's maximum speed. WAN throughput between your home and gaming network is often the long pole in the tent.Overall, despite some serious hyping by the manufacturer, I do recommend this unit. The back-end 2.5GHz and 10GHz capabilities alone make this a powerhouse for a home NAS or media unit like a Plex Server. The unit has superior broadcast capability, especially if your end systems are 6GHz capable; the four antennas are a bit gimmicky, but the RF section produces a strong and clean signal. The unit provides decent value; it's priced in the mid-tier range and is relatively affordable for a tri-band router with multiple megaspeed LAN ports. TP-Link is a reputable vendor, but ensure proper network hygiene; take advantage of the provided security features to lock down the router before connecting end devices.

Review of TP-Link Tri-Band BE11000 Wi-Fi 7 Gaming Router Archer GE650This thing is fast. Compared to my previous TP-Link AXE-5400 I get about 20% more throughput to my iPhone 13 Pro (about 500Mbps when standing about 10 feet away). That figure however drops rapidly with even a sheet of drywall, a door in-between.One really annoying "feature" is that there are no status LEDs for the LAN connections. Instead there is just the single bar LED that changes color to indicate the state of the router overall. So you can't tell if an individual port has connectivity or not just by looking at a dedicated LED like you can on cheaper routers. In order to understand the status LED you need to keep the instruction card handy to figure out the color codes. Maybe it looks cool at night, but it sure isn't practical for troubleshooting.Web UI is nice and it has lots of features as is standard on most TP-Link routers nowadays (VPN etc.).

Fast wifi router using wifi 7 and 6ghz giving you a true fast experience. Keep in mind to fully utilized wifi 7 your devices need to have wifi 7 ability and only newer devices have that. Now if you device does have wifi 7 ability then youre golden. You can fully experience fast speed internet which especially shines for online gaming. Here is the caveat, I own other routers from other manufacturers who also have wifi 7 abilities and in terms of speed they both come out exactly the same, in terms of distance then the BE11000 comes out short. After about 10 feet the wifi speed drops while my other wifi 7 routers dont have that problem. Hopefully this can be address in a firmware update but as of right now thats the only thing keeping it from having 5 stars. Good for people within 10 feet of their router, not so good for people over that. Keep in mind wifi 2G and wifi 5G work beyond the 10ft and you dont see much speed drop but my other routers provide a better experience. Overall, for this price range, I expect distance and speed to be top-notch.
