I purchased this antenna for my new Subaru Outback. I wanted a ham radio antenna that is a little more stealthy than the typical lip or magnetic mounted variety. This antenna was very easy to install; basically just pick a spot on the window and stick it on. You do need to be mindful that both sides match up perfectly, which wasn't too hard to do. Tuning was also very easy; just a small adjustment screw lets you dial in the SWR, which I got down to less than 1.5. The instructions state that the antenna may not work on tinted windows; mine are pretty heavily tinted and the antenna works just fine. I did place it in the center of the glass as far away from the metal edges as possible.In terms of performance, this antenna is OK but it won't replace a bigger antenna with better gain. It works great with local repeaters, even at 25 watts, but I really tell a difference on simplex frequencies, especially on the receive side.That said, if you're looking for an easy to install antenna that has decent performance at a good price, this would be a good choice.

I have mounted one of these on the rear window of a Dodge Challenger and side rear window of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. And both instances, the power readily transfers through the glass and the SWR is impressively low. I was able to get both down below 1.2 with little effort in adjustment.

I purchased this antenna to go on a new vehicle I purchased. The product was as described and met the specifications as described. Only negative issue was it did not tell me it would not work on tinted glass until I received it. Other then that it is a great product.

I was pleasantly surprised at this inexpensive antenna. It was easily installed, works well overall. As expected, it is not as good as either a mag mount or a permanently mounted antenna. It is somewhat directional as mounted on the rear glass of a pickup truck. It does work with Nissan factory tinted windows. Do NOT mount over window defogger wires. This antenna is narrow banded as it does not receive NWS frequencies as well as within the advertised bands. Gain, to be somewhat expected. I would purchase again.That was written a few years ago. I ordered another one for 2017 Silverado. The price is higher now. It doesn't work as well as on the Frontier, but is acceptable. It is also about 4 inches lower on the rear window. I'd still buy another.
