I have a mare that loves to be out with her friends walking/playing around but before I got her she had foundered so now she will always have tender feet. While they are out in the field I dislike having traditional shoes on them due to the husk of getting hung up in a fence. I had her feet trimmed, farrier nailed on just her pads and then I used the cast material around her front feet. After wrapping, They have been on for 4/5 weeks and I feel confident they will stay on until the farrier comes back out. They did rub through in some small spots on the bottom but the pads are still perfectly in place. I don’t think I’ll ever put her in a normal shoe again.
