One of the bowls arrived broken :( despite being wrapped in bubble wrap. That’s not the fault of the seller though. Other than that, these are decent for the price & it’s nice that they’re sold in a pair. The main complaint I have is that the bottom of the pestle is not coated in gloss or anything- so my cat’s pills get stuck to the bottom *a lot*. I have to scrape the bottom every single time I grind up her pills, to ensure she gets the full dose. If the bottom of the pestle was coated in gloss, I’d give this product 5 stars.

This motar and pestle is described as a "2.5" Pills Crusher." It is not designed for crushing pills. The inside of the motar bowl and the outside of the pestle are much too rough for medications. The groves hold WAY too much of the medication, medication that remains in the motar and on the pestle, medication the patient does not receive. It is also described as both "Porcelain" and "Ceramics" it is certainly not porcelain at best it is an extremely low-grade ceramic with defects.It is pictured as white, it is gray.It is pictured with a nice spout, it has a bump on the side.I purchased for grinding medication it is certainly not suitable for my intended use, I will keep it as a pepper grinder.

I have a senior Schnauzer that has to take pills for health reasons. Of course, it was a fight to get him to take his medicine and since he is blind and diabetic, I hated to stress him twice a day. I tried other pill crushers and they were really hard on my arthritic fingers. These ceramic crushers are great and getting 2 allows me to have one at home and keep one in my travel trailer when we go camping. They are substantial in weight and pretty to boot. Crushing his medicine is now done very quickly and there is no hassle from Zach and it no longer hurts my fingers. This purchase was a win, win for all concerned.
