First off this is not the same weight and gauge as traditional black pipe from Lowes etc. This is thinner, lighter weight and painted black. I doubt that the threads would fit standard black pipe fittings by looking at these pipes but then again it is cheaper to but these pipes and their related fittings from this supplier than mixing with standard black pipe.I bought this pipe as well as the floor flanges from this company to build an entertainment setup ( 3 tiered ) for our house. I used these along with live edge curly maple slabs. I will say I was very happy with how it all turned out.The pipe is not as heavy (good thing when using a bunch of pipe) yet it was very sturdy. The nice thing is the the pipes are threaded just the right amount to thread all the way in to the floor flanges they sell so no extra threads exposed as well as not guessing on how far to thread them all in to get the height correct on all four sides. With true black pipe you have to fit and turn each one and fiddle to get them all the same height.Now on another note the threads are not nice and tight like black pipe meaning...unless it is threaded all the way in the pipes will wiggle a bit so they need to be tightened all the way in to whatever fitting you use and again you need to use the fittings from this supplier it seems.The floor flanges were just a bit wonky on the flat side not unlike even box store true black pipe flanges so the flat side can have a slight unevenness but did not cause me any issues. However I did need to slightly turn a few legs/stanchions just a tad to get all four flanges even with one another. I run into this even with real black pipe...you thread on the floor flanges and they can sit slightly off from one another etc so even with the real ones you have to fiddle with a twist here and a twist there to get all four close to being roughly on the same plane.The paint job on them is good..a few had a scratch here or there but a magic marker fixed this and then again this is a sort of industrial look so I suppose it did not matter. Overall the entire set of pipes and flanges etc were in good shape.I wish the threads were a bit tighter but again they were fine when screwed all the way in but still would like a more snug thread. I would and will purchase them again when I do not need the heavy weight tue black pipe.

First off this is not the same weight and gauge as traditional black pipe from Lowes etc. This is thinner, lighter weight and painted black. I doubt that the threads would fit standard black pipe fittings by looking at these pipes but then again it is cheaper to but these pipes and their related fittings from this supplier than mixing with standard black pipe.I bought this pipe as well as the floor flanges from this company to build an entertainment setup ( 3 tiered ) for our house. I used these along with live edge curly maple slabs. I will say I was very happy with how it all turned out.The pipe is not as heavy (good thing when using a bunch of pipe) yet it was very sturdy. The nice thing is the the pipes are threaded just the right amount to thread all the way in to the floor flanges they sell so no extra threads exposed as well as not guessing on how far to thread them all in to get the height correct on all four sides. With true black pipe you have to fit and turn each one and fiddle to get them all the same height.Now on another note the threads are not nice and tight like black pipe meaning...unless it is threaded all the way in the pipes will wiggle a bit so they need to be tightened all the way in to whatever fitting you use and again you need to use the fittings from this supplier it seems.The floor flanges were just a bit wonky on the flat side not unlike even box store true black pipe flanges so the flat side can have a slight unevenness but did not cause me any issues. However I did need to slightly turn a few legs/stanchions just a tad to get all four flanges even with one another. I run into this even with real black pipe...you thread on the floor flanges and they can sit slightly off from one another etc so even with the real ones you have to fiddle with a twist here and a twist there to get all four close to being roughly on the same plane.The paint job on them is good..a few had a scratch here or there but a magic marker fixed this and then again this is a sort of industrial look so I suppose it did not matter. Overall the entire set of pipes and flanges etc were in good shape.I wish the threads were a bit tighter but again they were fine when screwed all the way in but still would like a more snug thread. I would and will purchase them again when I do not need the heavy weight tue black pipe.
