Aside from the rotating lead this is just a nice mechanical pencil. The weight and feel is good and I like having something nice to use at work

I use 2B lead, and the sleeve on this pencil protects that lead and limits breakage. It is attractive and a great value.

The Uni Kuru Toga Roulette Auto Mechanical Pencil is a great pencil for those who write a lot but don't want to fuss with having to rotate their pencil to maintain a sharpened tip. The lead tip rotates a tiny bit each time you press and lift your pencil off the paper. I honestly didn't think it would make a big difference in my writing or comfort but I found it actually really did. My pencil strokes look much more even and I stopped turning my pencil constantly, something I didn't even notice I was doing but only realized after using this pencil a few times. The lead dispenses well without breaking and retracts with a press off the top. I don't use the eraser on any of my mechanical pencils, but if you do, it erases just fine. One thing I didn't particularly like about the pencil is the weight. I've been using a Pentel Graph Gear Drafting Pencil for years now and the body of that pencil is completely metal. While the Uni Kuru Toga Roulette Pencil also has a metal body, it's only on the bottom half - the top half is metal-colored plastic. This isn't a huge issue, given how great the pencil writes, but it doesn't have the same nice evenly weighted feel that the Pentel does. If you want a more evenly balanced feeling pencil, I still highly recommend the Pentel. Overall, this is still a really great pencil, and my kids - who admittingly write way more than I do - found it revolutionary. At nearly $10 per pencil, it may seem expensive, but it is much more comfortable to use and is a better investment than buying a pack of those plastic mechanical pencils that will fail you within a few months.
