Hanson Irwin = Quality. I have been using Hanson (now Irwin Hanson) Tap and Die Sets and Screw Extractors for over 40 years. I wouldn't buy anything else. There is a reason Snap-On sells these under their Blue Point brand. Don't waste your money on any other brand, these are hardened, cut clean thread and last forever.

The product works well, but if you haven’t used one before, read the instructions, they work as well as they did in the 1960s. Good value for the money.

This set is a comprehensive set for sure. But please be aware, on the label of outside of box, it says taps, dies and extractors made in USA, drive tool made in China. The funny thing is “all the taps and 90% dies are actually made in China”, only 3-4 imperial dies are made in USA with USA logo. If I knew this before I bought it, I wouldn’t buy it, it’s not easy to return the item as I live in regional Australia not USA. So I can only give it a bad review.

I bought this chalk box based on price, and probably should have paid a little more. It was built with a very thin string that does not come out very easy... and does not hold the chalk like the old cotton string I used years ago. It does give a nice crisp line, but struggled with it trying to get the string to come out of the box every time. Maybe it's just training this old dog a new chalk box trick??

This is a high quality kit. The taps and dies are layed out well, and it's better than most universal tap and die sets that you get from your local hardware store. I was very impressed, nice to have the proper drill bits included as well (lettered and numbered drill bits, bits that the ordinary Joe doesn't usually have), that's not a feaure that most tap and die sets have. A very reasonable price for this product!!
