¡Terrible!

I bought this cello bow for my teen daughter, as a back-up / extra bow... but she's so happy with it that it's become her main bow! The resulting sound quality with this bow is better than when she plays with her usual bow. She's an advanced player and practices almost daily, so she uses it frequently, and so far it's holding up well. Given the price point I wasn't sure what to expect - and she's only had this new bow for 2 months so I can't speak for how it will hold up over the long term - but so far she's very happy with it and I'm glad I bought it for her. (And given how much it costs to re-hair a bow, I would honestly be inclined to just keep purchasing this bow over and over instead!)

Got this bow for my daughter who plays cello to replace the cheap brazilwood bow she was using that was breaking hairs. The hair is a very nice black (she loves the colour), each strand is nice and thick, takes rosin well, and sounds very nice on her cello. Bow is well balanced and has no visible flaws. Now the bad part.... After her using the bow for about 6 months she pulled it out of her case and a bunch of hairs were no longer in place. At first I thought she may have accidentally not loosened tension and the hairs broke. Under closer investigation I found that the hairs at the frog would fall out from the frog with the lightest of tension. None of them were broken. They just fell out. This let me look at the ferrule and wedge closer. With no hairs the ferrule comes off easily (as it should). The wedge though is in two pieces and not at all proper. It should be a one piece wedge.Once I got a look at the hairs they were never tied or rosined/glued. They were stuffed loose into the frog, loosely wedged in place. There "may" have been some form of very weak adhesive put on the hairs in order to keep them secured long enough to be out of the warranty/return time frame. The hairs show NO signs of ever being tied or glued/rosined.Thankfully I should be able to disassemble that part of the frog and after washing the rosin off the hairs will be able to properly secure the frog end. I will have to carve new wedges (maple not limewood/basswood) and ensure it is at least done properly this time.Since it costs over $200 to have a bow rehaired by a violinmaker I will have to do it myself. Taking my time and learning the steps first will be key.In the end I would strongly recommend NOT buying cello or any other bow from this manufacturer/store. They are just not made well enough given the price.

I'm just picking up playing my cello again after many years of not playing so I needed a new bow. I didn't want to spend a lot of money right now since I don't know if I will stick with playing or not. I saw this carbon fiber bow referenced on a few websites saying it was an ok bow for the price so I decided to give it a try. If I do end up continuing to play I'll probably upgrade to a better bow but this seems perfectly adequate for the time being. So far the bow feels comfortable to hold and feels quite light. It came packaged quite well from the manufacturer. The bow itself was wrapped in foam sheeting and then the whole thing was sealed into a PVC tube to ensure it arrived safely. Amazon packed it well enough with their air pillows in a decently sized box and the bow was perfectly fine. The packaging was what I was worried most about due to it needing to be shipped but it looks like the manufacturer has that part figured out.I'll update this review later if I find any issues or have any problems with the bow.

The bow arrived in a pretty well protected pvc pipe. And then some more protection. Wasn't to happy with the tape that was used because it was really strong and sticky. Making it quite hard to open, but considering how well the bow was protected I didn't mind to much. I am not a bow expert, but the overal quality looked very clean, well put together and strong. I bought this for a 10 year old and it has endured thus far. I am pretty satisfied.
