Item arrived with a white powder throughout the whole bag and all over the cedar hearts. I am planning on putting these next to my collectors bears and need to clean them now before I can even use them as I won’t damage my bears. Not what I was expecting with a new product.

I have a lot of wool items, and only limited space in a cedar chest so I rely on cedar blocks to keep them away from moths & their pesky larvae. Every storage bag contains a handful of blocks and this has worked very successfully for me for quite a few years. This is just a small package of heart-shaped blocks, and the blocks themselves are tiny, so I will need several packs which can get a bit expensive but on the plus side, once the cedar chips have exhausted their scent, there is no reason to dispose of them -- it is possible to renew the fragrance by sanding them down a bit. So, they can actually last for years, and of course the cost of a ruined woolen item can be very high. The fragrance permeates the clothing or blanket and I rather like the scent, but some of my family members don't, so I often air an item out for a day or so before using...I needed some extra to protect some blankets and sweaters I just purchased, so I needed some more and I was pleased to be offered the opportunity to review these. I actually prefer larger sized blocks, but these will work fine -- I'll just use a few more than usual. I liked that these blocks came with a couple of little mesh sachets to put the them in. The packaging was not as shown in the description -- these were just tossed in a plain, generic ziplock bag that had been sealed below the level of the ziplock. Once opened, the fragrance was as expected, although if all of the blocks aren't going to be used right away, they would need to be transferred to another bag air-tight bag for storage.These seem very similar in fragrance to cedar blocks I have purchased in previous years, so I'm sure they will do the job. I do have to note that these are a little more expensive than the brand I usually buy.

These inch-diameter heart-shaped pieces of cedar will give your clothes that cedar-lined drawer smell with just a scrap of the wood. And they have long been touted as a way to deter moths and other pests from becoming too cozy with your clothes.Cedar smells better than moth balls, but it never works as well. And for it to work at all, you need lots of cedar scent—so you will need to use these generously and replace them often. Still, for many people, it strikes the right balance. You’re doing something, but your clothes still smell nice.And keep in mind that cedar will never replace a trip to the dry cleaner. The moths (actually moth larvae—once they are moths, they won’t eat your clothes—and by the time they are moths, it’s too late!) are attracted to stains on your clothes—food, sweat, etc. Clean your clothes before putting them away! Air them out!Be warned that these are very small—one inch across. You will need all 50 of them. Still, as cedar pieces go, these are a fun shape, and they work as well as any other.

These are very cute heart-shaped pieces of cedar that I think are best for drawers. I ordered them for my clothes closet and I can't smell them. They do come with cute pink organza drawstring bags. Overall, not a bad purchase. I will try them in a smaller space.
