First of all, he loves this today. Second, he has tried to destroy it mercilessly, and hasn’t been successful. Would definitely recommend, especially for those with big/strong/destructive pups.

This is the 2nd West Paw bone that we have bought. The first one is still perfectly fine wherever it is hiding!! These bones are the best, my dog loves it and she will chase the bone all day if you let her!! Unless you loose it, they are pretty much indestructible.......our last one was about 4 years old and still had plenty of life left.

Highly recommended. I am very pleased to finally find a durable chew on the market. My female Saint Bernard is almost 2 years old, weighing 170 lbs. It had been very difficult to find a safe, durable chew toys. Some of the products we have tried in the past are:(1) Deer antler...The biggest kind we can find. The center tends to get brittle after a few weeks of use. It is not durable enough.(2) Nylabone Galileo Bone (Wolf/Souper size)...The surface becomes very sharp and spiky after a few good chewing sessions. (see the photo) My dog has been slicing her jowls and gums, leaving blood stains on her bed. We've used a belt sander to smooth out the surface, but it's only a temporary solution.(3) DuraChew Bone by Nylabone... The same result as (2). The surface becomes too sharp and it was not safe for my dog. (see the photo) Her hair gets caught and it's hard to stay clean. We bought Bumi, another dog toy product by West Paw Design, from a local pet store last year. We are very impressed with the durability and flexibility. It has been tugged, tossed, chewed by a bunch of dogs at a dog park (and it is very easy to clean), it has experienced severe Canadian winter temperature of -20 below. And my dog loves it.When I saw the Hurley Dog Toy from the same company, I purchased it to see if the claim was genuine. I am pleased to say that it is the safest, strongest chew toy that my dog enjoys playing. Whatever the magical material they use, it's working like a charm. My dog chews Hurley Toy differently from the previous chew toys. As for a deer antler and Nylabones, she crunched them obsessively for a long time. As for the Hurley, she chews a bit, then drifts into a sleepy state. It is a quiet chew toy that doesn't make a huge noise when dropped on a floor, which is great for someone living in an apartment or a condo.
