I recently purchased the Whirlpool W10780048 Suspension Rod Kit to address my washing machine's excessive shaking and banging during spin cycles. After installing the kit, I am pleased to announce that my washer operates smoothly and quietly as if it were brand new.The parts fit perfectly, and with the help of a YouTube tutorial, I completed the task without any issues. One of the components—the part where the rod hooks—looked different compared to my washer's original part. However, I assume this is an upgrade and found the new model more convenient.I can't say the installation was very easy; installing the two rods on the inner side was a bit challenging. One thing to always look out for is that the metal body has sharp edges; gloves and full sleeves would be good to wear while working on it.

Ordered these after some brief YouTube research into unstable washing machine spin cycles for my model machine. I watched a few different videos on the subject to get an idea of how to install them. Quite easy, actually. Know that a severely unbalanced load will always require stopping the spin and manually redistributing the clothes, however, with the new shock absorbers in place, the machine handles unbalanced loads a lot more than before. BUT buy OEM parts! Pay now and less frequently or pay later and more often! A satisfied customer.

Tenía unos meses que la tina golpeaba al centrifugar, un técnico nos comentó que era problema de transición y quería cobrarnos 5mil pesos. Al ver videos cambiamos solo los amortiguadores y quedo como nueva. Si su lavadora rebota por todos lados solo cambien esto y listo. Es muy fácil.

My 17yo Whirlpool started banging during the start of spin cycle. The drum would bang hard against the side of the washer no matter if I had a small load or heavy load. I called several Appliance repair places that all told me about the same thing that it was house call ($85) plus 2 hours labor ($80 avg) and parts ($80 to $100) to fix the washer. The washer cost $340 brand new when purchased so I wasn't going to spend $250 to $300 to have it repaired.I decided to research the problem and fix it myself. Did some research and found this is a common problem with suspension rods on many washers. Also did some research and found the non OEM Whirlpool knockoffs don't last more than a few months if you are lucky. I ordered these and watched a video on replacing them and it was not difficult. In fact, it took me less than an hour and all the appliance shops said it was a 2 hour job and it wasn't guaranteed to fix the problem.So save yourself some money and repair it yourself. Most contractors and repair places simply hire people off the street with no experience and give them a little hands-on experience and then turn them loose. It is very rare that you find skilled workers unless it is for electrical work or carpenters. Believe me, you are smarter than most of the repairman coming to your house. Plus, the labor rates they charge ($60 to $120 per hour) are outrageous.

My 17yo Whirlpool started banging during the start of spin cycle. The drum would bang hard against the side of the washer no matter if I had a small load or heavy load. I called several Appliance repair places that all told me about the same thing that it was house call ($85) plus 2 hours labor ($80 avg) and parts ($80 to $100) to fix the washer. The washer cost $340 brand new when purchased so I wasn't going to spend $250 to $300 to have it repaired.I decided to research the problem and fix it myself. Did some research and found this is a common problem with suspension rods on many washers. Also did some research and found the non OEM Whirlpool knockoffs don't last more than a few months if you are lucky. I ordered these and watched a video on replacing them and it was not difficult. In fact, it took me less than an hour and all the appliance shops said it was a 2 hour job and it wasn't guaranteed to fix the problem.So save yourself some money and repair it yourself. Most contractors and repair places simply hire people off the street with no experience and give them a little hands-on experience and then turn them loose. It is very rare that you find skilled workers unless it is for electrical work or carpenters. Believe me, you are smarter than most of the repairman coming to your house. So far so good. At half the price of buying Whirlpool parts, I decided to give it a try after seeing some great YouTube videos that showed how easy it would be to change the parts myself.
