I collect these puzzles and the dodecahedrons are my absolute favorite. This one was a nice addition! It's challenging without being too difficult or time-consuming. It took me roughly 25 mins to solve the first time. I would definitely recommend it for someone who isalready comfortable solving the 3x3 dodeca (megaminx). The instructions are easy enough to follow for an intermediate/expert cuber. The puzzle is a little hard to turn sometimes, but that's not due to poor quality- it's just because of the cut of the puzzle, so you may have to gently coax it a bit. If you're too forceful a piece may pop out (that happened to me).

Pretty fun, I've been learning the ropes with the 3x3 and have always wondered how these more oddball "cubes" work. the 2x2 format of the Megaminx is just challenging enough to learn some of the basic algos but not so much that it's frustrating. The "cube" feels pretty good in the hand it's got some nice weight, it feels really well made. Rotations are pretty smooth it's a bit tricky with the non 90 degree angles on the blocks but fun to get used to. Would absolutely recommend if you have also caught the cubing bug and are looking for a new challenge to test your solving skills.

Great addition to my ‘cube’ collection - though it’s of course not a cube. They probably overdid it on the lubricant, as it was obviously covered straight out of the box. It’s not the smoothest when turning, but I imagine a lot of large and/or non cube shapes would be like that. Definitely fun and great for collectors.

I'd never tried a circular megaminx before I tried this one. I'd worked up from 3x3s to pyraminxes, 4x4s and 5x5s but never this.Honestly, it made my brain hurt the first few days. Like going hiking and thinking you've reached the summit, only to find there's a whole peak that you couldn't see - but in a good way! I did eventually get there (and I did have to peek at the solve sheet that came with it!) but after a while I started to understand how it moved and what did and didn't work. This cube is complex but isn't delicate. It feels robust and well made, and although it takes some work to learn to move quickly with it it can be done. This is more because of the complexity of the unit itself rather than the build quality. It did come with an oily sheen which covered the outside. My guess it was lubed before it was boxed, but a quick rub with some methylated spirits soon solved this.Overall, a great challenge but not for beginners. Work your way up to this one!
