I grew up on a mixture of yellow number 2 pencils and cheap Bic mechanical pencils that I frequently broke the lead on and I preferred a perfectly sharpened yellow pencil. When I sat down with my math book for an evening of homework, I’d go to the garage where the pencil sharpener was and I’d sharpen a handful of pencils and then get to work. Then adulthood and blue and black pens for days. But the other day I needed a pencil and I couldn’t find a pencil anywhere in my house! So, amazon, naturally, and here we are. I’m pleased and surprised to tell you that mechanical pencils have come a LONG WAY! Now you can get a nice sharp (fine line) edge without breaking because the nib is actually built like an ink pen, it supports the pencil lead (I took a pic, hopefully you can see.) In fact, when I first got these out of the packaging and saw the metal nibs I double checked, thinking they’d sent ball point pens! The grip is shaped and comfortable and I don’t have a single bad thing to say about it. The eraser is under a color-matched lid, which I imagine kids would lose quickly but I’ll be fine with. Keeping track of where the extra lead is so I have it when I need it will be my biggest difficulty but that would be true with any mechanical pencil. The included non-smudging erasers are immediately headed to my art box and these pencils are getting dispersed to places where I need a writing utensil but don’t want to risk a leaky pen. In my car (the heat kills and makes pens leak all the time), in my bag, in my art box, and at my desk. Perfect!I’m kind of amazed, I figured getting some pencils would be a nothingburger, but I learned something new today. I’m definitely pleasantly surprised.

These are beautiful mechanical pencils. The weight and balance suggest quality. I use a lot of pencils while officiating golf tournaments. I tend to buy the disposable pencils because of the loss factor. These pencils are far superior in appearance and also come with refills. I will be very careful not lose one of these on the course. The additional erasers are a plus. It would have been nice to get a supply just for the pencil as well but the package of pencils, refill lead and smudge free erasers make a value package. The gripper is another positive feature.I would recommend this set for anyone who uses/needs higher quality mechanical pencils.

I am a fan of writech brand. As someone who writes daily, I’ve tried a lot of mechanical pencils, but the Writech Mechanical Pencil Set really impressed me. The first thing I noticed was how sleek and soft the pastel colors are—it gives the set a calming, clean aesthetic that’s perfect for both school and work settings. The triangular grip is a game-changer! It’s ergonomic and super comfortable, even during longer writing or sketching sessions. The mid-body lead feed system is smooth and precise, and I haven’t had any issues with the lead breaking.I also love the built-in timer-style clip—it’s such a unique feature that actually works well for securing the pencil in notebooks or planners without damaging them. The included lead refills and extra erasers were a great bonus, making this set feel like a great value.

Great set that includes the following items:- 4 mechanical pencils – all are 0.7mm, with built-in erasers and metal clips; and come in four different colors (pink, gray, white, slate blue)- 4 erasers (2B)- 4 refill packs of 0.7mm HB leadPencils work really well and feel quite premium – they feature a nice, comfortable grip and look quite stylish / professional as well. Erasers are excellent – comparable to the Staedtler Mars plastic eraser. Very nice!Overall, this is a terrific set – great for school or work. Highly recommend!

I started using mechanical pencils way back in drafting classes in the early 80s. There may be some occasional need for other types of pens/pencils from time to time, but mechanical pencils are always the "go to" writing device for my wife and myself. These are great so far. Ok they don't feel as solid as high end metal models, but at the rate I use & lose these things I'm better off with plastic. Even the erasers (on each pencil and the big ones) are excellent, they eraser cleanly and without smearing. One little perk I didn't know about is the hiding tip. Press the top end with your thumb and apply pressure to the tip, and the entire tip assembly goes back inside the pencil. It might not be "amazing", but I've been stabbed/poked enough to appreciate it.
