We ordered this shortly before we lost one of our cats to cancer. It took a few tries to get a nice, clean print with the ink membranes, but we finally did. The clay for the impression side was easier to use. We really like how with this kit the clay is rolled out flat into a premade frame and that it actually dries right there. Make sure you don't press too deep into the clay with your pet's paw or else the clay can smoosh up too high to fit under the glass. The little plastic letters to stamp into the clay can be a pain to line up straight, but this is the first kit I've seen with a plastic bar to slide the letters into to keep them properly aligned. If you have nice handwriting, you might wish to use a thin, sharp instrument to write out your pet's name yourself. The frame is sturdy and holds everything together so there's no movement inside the frame. I wish the hook on the back was better, though. We ended up attaching a saw tooth hanger at each end of the frame instead. The existing hook wasn't secure in the frame and could be easily moved around which made us not trust it to hold this frame on the wall.Overall a pretty basic kit. When dealing with the impending loss of a beloved family member, not having to deal with intricate instructions or fuss with a lot of parts is a good thing.

We ordered this for our older dog. We wanted to get something we could remember him with when that unfortunate part of life rolls around. The kit comes with everything you need to make a paw print impression with a good sized piece of clay, and it also includes an ink tray so you can make an ink paw print. The best part about the ink tray is you don't have to dip your dogs paw directly into the ink, you just put a piece of the provided paper under the ink tray and press your dogs paw firmly down onto the tray and it transers your dogs paw print onto the paper. Also included are instructions on how to use the product, letters and numbers so you can stamp your dogs name or whatever you want to onto the paper or frame, you also receive double sided tape so you can adhere the papers onto the frame.I would recommend this product, it is easy to use and everything needed is provided. I would definitely purchase again for my other dogs. This is a great way to remember your fur babies! It also makes a great gift idea that isn't to heavy on the wallet if your on a budget or prefect to just keep for yourself :)I would suggest though if you have an active pet to have help to keep your pet still so you can get a good print and impression.

I ordered the paw prints/clay kit to memorialize my 13 year old furbaby during his last few days with me, and I did his sister and my other pup as well because I don’t want to wait until they are ill. This is beautiful, I am so glad I received it, I am not finished putting it all together yet as I haven’t picked out what photos I want printed out, and I have a few different paw prints I did. This was a great set, very easy to follow instructions, I love all the options and size. Very pretty, great value, looks really nice and will be better when I finish. Thank You.

It is heartbreaking when a pet dies, but their lifespans are painfully short. Working on a memorial while the pet is still alive can help a family accept death and begin to work through the grief together. The practical part of working on a paw print project is that these are not very easy to work with and you don't want to try this for the first time during the final visit to the veterinarian. This complete paw print and stamp kit from the Xuepett Store has a two-window frame to hold a clay paw print, a surface photo, and a paw print stamp. You may not get all three to work, so be flexible on the final design. The paw print stamp pad did not work for me, and you get only one try at this. The ink is smoothly deposited on one side of a plastic sheet so that you can dab the paw on the clean side while the other side dabs the ink onto the paper. I lined up the ink plate with the 4x6 card and pressed the dog's paw onto it. The result was an ugly, gummy ink blot that looked nothing like a paw print, and the ink plate didn't have enough ink to try again. I have a photo of a paw print in the snow and an image of his foot that I could use instead. A cat paw is tiny enough for a few tries, but my Labrador takes up the whole sheet. The clay is similar to the air dry clay from the department stores in the art department. The clay will be dry in spots and sticky in other places, so you must roll, squeeze, and knead it with your hands after removing it from the sealed package. Eventually, the clay will be warm, consistent, and smooth. I used the plastic tray from the failed ink kit as a mold for the clay as I rolled the surface flat with the included dowel. When I first pressed the dog's paw into the clay, I didn't like the result, so I rolled it flat again and got an acceptable print on the second try. The clay took several days to dry, but the result looks good. One devastating problem I found later is that you must keep the clay between 3/8" and 1/2" thick - thinner won't allow for a clear print, and thicker won't fit the frame. I might replace the backing to give more room.Although the ink print failed, the rest of the kit is worth the price. I really want to do this all over again, though. Now that it is built, I dislike how cheap it is. The "window glass" is thin plastic. The white frame and white background wash out the color of the white clay paw print. To enhance the contrast, I may have to accent the paw print with charcoal. At this point, despite my planning, all that I have is what I have.
