Advantage of this chainsaw over other cheaper chains is it's a much longer chain with more teeth closer together (two facing one way then two the other) and having cutting teeth on both sides of the chain so it doesn't matter which way the chain goes over the wood. The throwing bag is a bit bulky for getting through small spaces, but works okay and serves as the storage bag. As others note, for any branch over say 5 cm dia, it's easy for the chain to bind in the cut and get quite stuck. All saw blades and chains have this problem, but when it happens 20 feet up it can be quite a nuisance to free it, possibly needing a pole to push it up out of the cut, or throwing one rope back over so you can try pulling the chain out of the cut, or feeding one rope up over a higher branch to pull it up out of the cut. As others advise, it's a two person job and the wider the angle you can cut then the less easily it will get bound up. Took a couple of tries, first try time getting the chain badly stuck, but managed to do a heavy 20 cm branch hanging out way over the water that couldn't easily have been done any other way. The kit pictured in the listing shows two strap handles with D-rings, but what comes with the kit now are two plastic hand grips with short cords and S-hooks -probably much more comfotable to use than straps, but not needed if you're using ropes. Tie the ropes to the supplied S-hooks and pinch the hook closed so they can't slip off.

The saw blade works well. It does just like it is supposed to. Everything else, the handles and the bag for the rocks are not worth a turd. That's okay though. The blade makes it all worth it. I used paracord and tied loops in it to serve as handles.Pro tip: Instead of trying to throw the weight bag over the limb use a fishing rod with a lead weight to get over it. Once its over, tie the end of your saw line onto the fishing line and real that sucker in.

Like others stated the hand loops aren't attached to the chain and there's nothing included to do so.One solution is to bend open the metal "D" ring on the hand loops & install on the chain.But they bend too easy. Think they would just bend open with heavy use.Got two 3/16 anchors (metal loop with removable link) to connect to each hand loop to the chain from the store.Problem was the 3/16 anchor was a China 3/16 size.So I ended up having to drill out the chain ends to almost 1/4".It's hardened but I did get thru.The chain ends are so small that a China size 1/8 anchor would have been all that fits.But the 1/8 at the store was only rated for 300 lbs max vs 3/16 600 lbs.300 lbs breaking streangth IMO wouldn't be enough for the link to work under a heavy load without being damaged.Next problem was the "D" ring side of the hand loop was too small for the new hardware.Just had to flip it around and put it thru the same side as your hand.It's probibly made for bigger sizes but this is what I had to test.3/4" branches it tears off 1 pull.Fast but not a clean cut.1 1/2" it cut in a few pulls cutting from 1 side only (not wrapped the branch).Again when it got near the end it would tear the branch free.It's a very aggresive cutting chain. So it takes some force to move it.It fits in a small packet that could fit in a pocket or hook on something with the enclosed carabiner.Doesn't weigh too much.It would be ideal for camping, survival, wooded off road, or emergencies. Such as a tree blocking a road.Maybe an occasional cutting a branch too high to reach.For landscaping I would would use a hand saw first.

Throw bag is already breaking apart after a few throws over branches, better canvas material should have been provided.The chain is indeed dual action cutting so gets job done relatively fast however the issue is it bends due to parts connecting the chains as others mentioned.Something at this price point should have better durability then one time use.

My only complaint is having to find something that can connect to the blades strong enough to hold up to the torque of pulling on the ropes. The holes at the end of the blade are tiny, not large enough for the ropes we are using to saw the high limbs. I used an s hook and bent it into place wrapping it into a coil. It held up well but still came apart. Going to try chain links next. Overall love the double sided blades though. No more farting around trying to get the blade side down...
