Although this pedal assembly is designed for industrial use to switch two separate pieces of equipment on and off and it is built out of cast aluminum I purchased it for use in the music industry. More on that later. The unit has too sturdy aluminum pedals with traction knurling on it so your feet don't slip off and is fairly heavy so it stays put with four or six rubber feet on the bottom. It has a standard 3/4 screwed input or threaded input to accept a bushing our Romex connector clamp for standard wiring. It's actually designed with single pole double throw switches at each pedal. This basically means that the pedal can either turn on when it's pressed or turn off when it's pressed. Typically it's used for manlifts to go up and down or some kind of hydraulic or electrically controlled piece of equipment. I'm using it in the music industry for hi-hat control and symbol chokes on a midi pad controller for my studio I had simply installed a quarter inch TRS Jack in the rear of the unit allowing me to wire up the switches accordingly which allows me to plug in that quarter inch cord into my midi pad drum controller and have full control over hi-hat open and close status as well as symbol crash chokes. Because I use this unit on carpet I drilled six eighth inch holes through the chassis in the rear which is underneath the lid with the switches are and I thread it in six half inch pan head sheet metal screws that protrude through the base about an eighth of an inch and this grabs the carpet so the pedal does not move when using it otherwise it would slide backwards with every press. I had also added some foam underneath the petals so that when the pedals are depressed they're not smacking into the metal base and that's important for the music world but it's not so important for the industrial world. I was very impressed with its overall build quality and performance it's a solid cast aluminum the hardware is very good. There was only one downside to it and I think it was just a manufacturer's defect and that is one of the screws that holds the adjustable plate down for the switch one of the switches inside was not even threaded so it literally was just sitting in the hole it was not screwed down cuz it was no threads to allow it to screw other than that the unit is solid as a rock.

The item I received has new tape around the box and the components on the inside were not installed. The images show exactly how the product arrived. It is also missing one of the wire clamps on the left side.

Im using it to control the direction of a cutting machine. The machine had a switch on it for direction, but i find it easier and faster to use my feet to control direction, and have both of my hands free.
