I collect these as curiosities and this one is surprisingly good!Good audio for the tiny speaker, unexpected.Does well on all bands, remember this isn't a full blown comms receiver, I'm rating this for the price and size.

This little radio bluetooths with your cellphone, although without this connection, each mode goes back to it's last frequency setting. I paired it to my home computer to take music to another room for short visits. I haven't had much luck with the shortwave, but I did not use the included wire antenna. FM is okay. And it plays from a mini SD card, so you always have something to listen to. So, for this price, I figured you cannot have too many radios, and I have other shortwave receivers and a transciever anyway. Sound isn't really great, because this radio is so SMALL! So far, it's been fun to play with, but not really a serious radio.

It's an interesting little radio. If the tuner allowed more precision, such as within the Ham bands so one could listen in on ARES networks during emergencies, this would be an easy 5-star. I got this during a flash sale for $27 and consider it a steal at that price; at its regular price now of around twice that amount, I'd probably spend a few more bucks and get something with manual tuning. However, this thing is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and sounds really good for a single-speaker pocket radio. With SW, FM, AM, and NWS frequencies available, it's a great way to stay connected to what's happening in my area and beyond now that I've programmed a good number of channels (very easy to do, by the way).I didn't load the app, which would apparently make controlling this radio easier, because it has to be sideloaded (not available on Apple's App Store) so I just don't trust it on the same device as other data I don't want to share with CCP strangers, but the few buttons on the radio itself are fairly intuitive for getting the device to do everything the app purports to do.Battery life is phenomenal; I got about 30 straight hours of listening to an AM news radio station, on about 1/3 of max volume, and the battery meter bar still showed 1/4 remaining power before I chickened out and recharged it.Don't laugh at the clip-on antenna extension - it works! I cut a 25' length of braided fishing line, hitched the far end of the antenna to the middle, put a loop on one end of the line to secure it and a yellow plastic casting practice plug (like those that come with kids' fishing poles) on the other so I can toss it over a limb to pull up the extension, then pull the looped end to bring it all back down. Had no trouble picking up SW stations from New England in my back yard west of the Mississippi, with very clear reception on a cloudy day.On the cons side, the USB-C charging port doesn't come with a dust plug, app privacy/security is unknown (as previously stated), the extendable whip antenna is rather delicate, and the user's manual could use a good editing into more comprehensible English for the US market. The good news is that the radio, charging cable, and antenna all fit nicely into a Pelican 1010 Micro case (ASIN B001G2ABZU here) which is more than enough protection from the elements and minor rough handling during casual outdoorsy transport.Overall, I'm pleased with it at the price I paid. For its current list price, I'd add a few bucks and get something that is more precisely tunable and can tune to single sideband (SSB) frequencies, like the Tecsun PL330 (ASIN B0921HN6QM) although it's still hard to beat this tiny ZHIWHIS for portability, flexibility, and battery life. It really does punch above its weight class.

Battery eventually didn’t charge anymore and had to throw away since it was a non replaceable battery.
