I used this with 8 awg cable to carry 12v 30 to 50 amps. I soldered the cable into the connectors. (Don't like crimping I don't trust it). The connectors snapped into the housings nicely and the plug works as it should.Only downfall is there are silicone plugs that go around the wire and plug the holes in the back. With 8 awg wire they don't work. Other downfall is it comes with silicone plug covers that cover the ends when not plugged into each other. Silicone is slippery and they just fall off with the slightest bump. Stuff I can live with as long as the plugs work and they do.

they are good connectors for sure BUT they are considerably bigger and the plug pin, visible at the top of the grey plug is for much larger gauge wires. I honestly bought these because I wanted the handles which are likely essential on the larger plug. I am making a quick connect set up for a trolling motor and anticipating wet dirty slimy hands when it comes to the time to unplug the wiring harness from the battery in the small boat being used. As you can see on the extreme right, the handles do in fact fit both plug sizes. One handle on each plug will eliminate any temptation to pull on the wires. So now I also have an extreme heavy amp capable plug spare which I can no doubt use in my Jeep or RV setup. At least my connections have no fear of being undersized ! These style of connectors are extremely difficult to find in brick and mortar shops. The delivery was LESS than 24 hours, the price is as good as any I've seen and the product is as expected and as advertised. Just be aware that these are the big guys but it seems the only way to get the handles. I would thing for on board compressors or winches on 4x4's this is what you want anyway due to the heavy amperage draws
