WiFi Coverage 10/10Prior to buying this router Netgear, TPLink, and Eero mesh systems performed poorly. This single unit covered what the mesh systems were not able to, extending coverage 30-40 feet in all directions.Parental Controls 7/10Netgear controls allowed for granular filtering where the Asus only covers the top level of categories. Creating access controls for a single domain name or key identifier required use of web gui.Style 10/10Small footprint and sleek design.Performance 10/10All security functions enabled with 30 devices connected this router never skips a beat. CPU utilization 10-20% most of the time, 80% of the memory in use, no problems but concerned about future updates or services being introduced causing memory usage to increase.Logging and Diagnostics 10/10More information at your fingertips than any other manufacturer, troubleshooting problems is a breeze and no need to setup a syslog server as events can be displayed in realtime through the web gui.Remote Managemant 3/10Doesn't work as well as Netgear or TPLink, connecting to the device and navigating through settings is painfully slow.Functionality 10/10Port bonding and VLANs are a huge perk, along with multiple SSIDs that can be created to perform segmentation of wireless clients.I've been struggling to find a router that had the features I need to keep my networks safe and provide the best wireless performance possible without breaking the piggy bank. Would be a 5 star if the parental controls and the remote management functions were improved, but definitely not a show stopper.

Works significantly better than the provider router, strong signal across a large area, excellent download speeds, devices no longer randomly kicked out for renegotiation

I upgraded our home router from a Netgear Nighthawk to this Asus model. It was a cinch to set up, create a custom SSID, bump the firmware, and get the entire house reconnected to the internet.The Asus app is a significant help and simplifies a lot of configuration and management choices. A couple of days in, and I’m still tweaking things here and there to dial the router into my preferences.The connectivity and speeds are great. The design of the router itself is a bit “GAMER!” for my tastes, but that’s minor. This was definitely a function over form purchase.One word of warning, though. If you’ve a few older, internet-friendly devices, consider a standalone “guest” SSID for these items. This direct set up on the 2.4gHz band in lieu of the Triband Smart Connect allowed me to connect an old Kindle, an older Vizo TV, and a persnickety wireless garage sensor.

Easy install with the app. Solid signal throughout and consistent wifi speeds. Honestly the best routers I’ve ever purchased; this Asus actually does what it claims.
