This is my first fountain pen, so not much I can compare to. I bought this as I heard Duke pens were good. So far, it is a joy to draw with. Ink flows well from the nib and am able to get a good variety of lines when drawing. I glides over the paper and feels solid and not too heavy in the hand. I recommend using it with the cap on the other end for better balance; feels a bit light without the cap. The pen is easy to fill, tho I can’t get the well to fully fill up. Maybe it’s not meant to. Again, this is my first fountain pen. Worthy purchase!

This is one of the nicest nibs I’ve ever seen on a fountain pen. Such expressive lines from thin to very thick…definitely worth it!

I like the look/design of this pen - the matte black and the weight of the pen is really nice. However, I'm finding that it does not write as well as other fountain pens I have used.I expected broad lines - and another review indicated thin lines as well. However, I am finding that too much ink flows through the bent nib when using it for broader strokes - leaving wet lines (and wasting of ink)Re: thinner strokes, it's impossible to get smooth writing out of it - scratchy or inconsistent ink flow.Definitely not an everyday pen (which I was looking for) - rather probably one more for artistic cases i.e. card writing.

I loved this pen! I have been using it for over half a year now and it still works perfectly! It came with a simple pull string bag to keep the pen in. The pen is lightweight but isn't so that there isn't a heaviness feeling to it. I bought mine in black and yellow and it looks so fancy and professional! The pen does catch on fibres sometimes and it sometimes railroads very rarely but for $30 its honestly very good. There is definitely line variation it just depends on which angle you hold the pen and how hard you press. I use mine with Noodler's Black Waterproof Fountain Pen Ink and the writing I get from this provides me with a starting ground for calligraphy. Overall I'm very very happy with this pen and I'm considering getting another one to keep in my pencil case. I recommend this for anyone who is testing out fountain pens like starters or hobby finders, Good job! (Sorry about the pictures)
