The flash works well and I like the way it looks and feels on the fuji X-m5. The aesthetics match really well. S1 and s2 mode works great to add a kicker light when needed. The internal battery is super nice also, and it's great that it charges via USB-C. I found sometimes even at 1/64th power it could be a little over powering if you want to use a lens at 1.4~1.8 for flash. Wish it could stop down all the way to 1/128~1/256 since it's pretty much direct flash. Folding a piece of paper though to diffuse it did help a bit though.Really the biggest let down is the plastic body and knobs. If this was killed aluminum it would be outstanding. Sadly the plastic they are using just doesn't feel that great. If you squeeze it it creaks, and the knob just doesn't have a nice feel to it. The look screams 1950s-1970s but the build feels like mid 90s off shoot vivitar. It would be nice also if it was somehow able to tilt up for bounce. It's strong enough to be a bounce flash at full power.It's a great fill flash for outside shooting. I put a before and after of an Iris in our yard and the flash did an admirable job of filling in the light at iso 100 f5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/125. It really does have that onboard flash appeal and for solid f4~f8 shooting for a old school portrait fashion vibe, it's awesome.
