I used it under the carpet, and it was just the right size, so I didn't have to cut it. The effect is quite obvious when I put it on the wooden floor. The carpet really won't move around, and it's much more comfortable to walk on, and it won't slide around. This is really necessary, especially if you have children or pets at home. The thickness is okay, not too thin or too thick, just right, and it can also provide an extra layer of protection for the floor. But to be honest, you still have to pay attention to pressing the corners a little bit, otherwise it may curl up slightly over time, and you need to adjust it from time to time.

This is a huge rug pad, and works really well. I would say it's great value for the money. I didn't need to make any modifications to it- it worked perfectly under a huge rug that I had at the house. The rug stays in place, and my floors are well protected from scratching or the rug moving around- since it didn't really have much backing on it by itself. Now, with the rug pad, it grips to the floor and the rug no longer moves.The only drawback is that this rug pad isn't very cushiony. It's rather thin, so it won't provide too much more cush to your rug. However, I think it's a great solution for keeping rugs in place on the floor, and fairly inexpensive for the size.

This rug pad is nice. It isn't as grippy as I'd like, but it suffices. I guess they simply don't make a good rug gripper.
