Great little radio. Perfect for everyday listening as well as to NOAA during severe weather. Access to the NOAA weather broadcast combined with local news is valuable during storms, especially during a power outage; and hurricane season is just around the corner. Extremely solid, well built radio, as only Midland can provide. Great to have one for the house, and another one for the car. Easily fits in the glove compartment or the center console. Comes complete with lanyard and high quality, replaceable batteries. I bought two.

I purposely got the rechargeable one. This is a very handy little radio. It is a little smaller but has the same sound quality as a 1970s transistor radio. If you are looking for the ultimate listening experience this is not for you. If you was instant weather alerts on the go this unit will do that. I live in a metro area and all the stations I listen to in my car come in clearly on this radio. It has preprogramed National Weather Service channels or you can step through the frequencies.Other reviews have mentioned very tight batteries. The batteries that come with it and normal off the shelf AA batteries fit extremely tightly. I had to use 2 thumbs to push them all the way in and had to pry all three out. With the batteries pushed all the way in the battery compartment will close but make sure they are in all the way.I am hard of hearing and often have difficulty understanding words over radio and TV. The sound quality is good enough I clearly hear every word, a little staticky but sufficient. The sound quality improves greatly when using my wired ear buds. The voice comes through in both ears. This unit weighs almost nothing and fits in a pencell bag. Easy to take any ware. I bought it for the weather broadcasts, but AM and FM reception is acceptably good as well. I tested the weather alert last nigh when the severer weather announcements came through the alarm was enough to wake me up. the flashing light helped me find the radio. The flashlight illuminated my entire pitch black bedroom sufficiently to navigate without tripping over stuff on low beam. The slightly brighter setting is exactly that. The flashing beam gets your attention. For the price I think it is a good value.

Purchased the ER10VP Emergency Alert Radio after being without electricity for 4 days after Hurricane Milton. On receiving the radio, I attempted to put the batteries in - wow, was that a challenge. If you don't have great hand strength, it might take several minutes – minutes - like 5 or more, to install the batteries. Instructions are included and I was able to set the time, select an AM station, FM station, and the appropriate Weather station for my area. The flashlight worked in all modes, low beam, high beam, and strobe. At about 4:20 AM, the next morning, there was a rudely loud unfamiliar alarm sound. Everyone in the house woke up - it was not a cell phone, nor the smoke detector, then the sound stopped on its own before we were able to determine the source. Suspecting the emergency radio, I got it out of the box, nothing on the weather radio channel was broadcasting anything urgent. My cell phone weather app did have a warning about flooding in our general area, but this was not a new alert. After settling down again for some more sleep, the alarm sounded again 30 minutes later. The radio flashes the strobe light when sounding and can be stopped by touching any of the control buttons. In the light of day, reading the instructions more carefully, the weather alert function can be disabled, but by this time the batteries had been removed from the radio. Removing the batteries also required considerable hand strength.

I bought this little radio for my work office to listen to the news while at my desk...PROS; looks and feels high quality...Great volume and has a flash light that l found came in handy...Cons;...I found the settings difficult to navigate and went through too many batteries after only a few days of minimal use...Also the batteries were very difficult to take out as you cant pull them out with just your fingers..I think this product would be great on a hiking trip or a day trek but not for regular home use...
