Great CPU, cannot beat it for the price. Neat SFF case but limited cooling options, gets pretty hot on the inside. The LP 4060 I added worked well but was hot hot. Was able to add a small front fan, tried both exhaust and intake but no improvement on temps. No matter what GPU you can fit in here it will be the bottleneck relative to the CPU until an LP 5060 or something comes out (and actually probably not even then given the minimal uplift in the 50 series).

I wanted a SFF portable desktop that was just large enough to install a low profile dual slot GPU and this unit fit my needs. The nvme slot has a plastic cover that pops up instead of a screw and was hard to reach because of the small case.I used a MSI 3050 low profile video card and it just managed to fit in the case. The temperatures were a little high so I added aNoctua NF-A8 PWM to the front to exhaust the hot air.. l could only use one screw to attach it to the case. I also downloaded Fan Control software to adjust the fan curve of the unit.It has been rock solid so far for me.Highly recommended.

I picked up a Minisforum barebone PC to use as my home lab, and it’s been an absolute powerhouse.I loaded it with two 1TB NVMe drives and 64GB of non-ECC RAM, all paired with the Ryzen 9 CPU it came with. For its size, this thing is a beast, plenty of muscle for running multiple VMs, containers, and services without breaking a sweat. That said, it’s definitely a tight fit inside. There’s a PCIe slot for a GPU, but realistically, not many cards will fit in there unless you’re getting creative chopping the case or going external. It also only has a single NIC, which is a bit of a letdown for a home lab setup, dual NICs would’ve opened up more network flexibility. And no built-in Wi-Fi, though there’s an M.2 slot if you really need to add it.Pro tip: I run Proxmox on it and it's super smooth. With community templates available on GitHub, spinning up VMs is fast and easy. For a compact home lab, this little machine hits way above its weight.

You should buy this item if you're used to assembling your own computer, and you want the 16 core 32 thread CPU that this unit has. Otherwise I would not recommend it, as I had RAM compatibility issues and I wasted hours with TeamGroup RAM that would work sometimes and not others, despite passing 8 rounds of memtest86+ in this unit.If you run into difficulty, know that when you first install new RAM it takes 2+ minutes for it to POST (no video), and if it doesn't show the Minisforum logo after 5+ minutes try removing one stick and power on again. Also the button on the back can be pressed in 10 second or longer (with power cable unplugged) to reset BIOS, which may be needed if you haven't got it to POST yet.I recommend using the HDMI on board as it worked best for setup. If it's not starting, switch the RAM stick and try again ruling out the RAM and slots and checking they click in all the way.Buy Crucial RAM if you want good compatibility; it was worth the extra $ in my case as it always powers on since switching RAM to Crucial. Also worth noting, the M.2 slots support 6xSATA adapters, and the mini PCIe Wi-Fi slot supports a 4xSATA adapter also found on Amazon (look for the one with the cable and two types of slots, as the smaller one fits and works with this board but needs the cable so the SATA ports don't face the I/O or CPU cooler.Built a nice little NAS with ITX form factor using the motherboard from this one.
