These are as described and well-constructed. I measure 31" at the waist and 39" at the hips so I ordered a medium. They are pretty snug, so the way they fit lines up with the size chart. I probably could have ordered a large, and wish I had since these show off every bulge. But you don't want swimming shorts to be loose, so I didn't take that chance. So, for those of us right on the edge of the sizes, guess your best. They mention 3 pockets at the back waistband, but it is actually one large pocket about 2.5" wide across the back, and is tacked in two different places at the top to make 3 sections. The pockets are not sewn from top to bottom. If you put something small in there, it could slide all around. But the middle compartment holds my phone comfortably. The briefs underneath do show a little through the fabric because you can see bumps through the outer layer by the lines they make. I do wish the under-briefs were boxers for a smoother look.

I guess I didn't realize that they had underwear connected to them... I actually don't like that, but nice color and material!

High-Waisted Swimsuit Shorts. 5" inseam. XXLThese swim shorts have the appearance of yoga shorts, including the little dip at the navel, but they are made out of swimsuit material, with built-in briefs.I always size-up when it comes to swimwear due to the stretch of the material. The XXL fits more like an XL. The shorts will fit a person who wears an XXL but it may be a bit snug. The pant leg portion seems a bit more generous than the waist, so I feel these are cut more for those who are pear shape.Comfortable. Non-constrictive. Modest. The inseam hits just where I need it. I'm 5' 1", so where the inseam falls is dependent on the wearer's height.These are cute and sporty, able to do various, vigorous activities without worrying that my bits will be on display. There are 3 hidden pockets, but since I plan on wearing these in water, I won't be utilizing the pockets.I am very pleased with these swim shorts and plan on getting the navy blue pair.

I'm a guy who likes to wear tight fitting swimsuits, I don't like the feel of loose wet fabric.I tend to frequently go for women's swim bottoms because there's not a lot of variety in terms of tight fitting men's swim trunks.This is the first "cross waist" style swim bottom I've tried. It looks a bit odd on my but I think it looks OK and I'll probably be fine with it. Since it was winter when I got it I wasn't able to try it out swimming yet but I expect it will be fine.
