PRODUCT DESCRIPTION – PeakRider Bike Suspension Seat Posts, 25.4/27.2/30.4/30.9/31.6mm, Bicycle Seatpost with Adjustable Absorber for MTB/e-Bike/BMX/Childrens BikePERFORMANCE – I have little to say other than it is one of the better suspension seat posts I have ever seen. The material of the post of is made of tough but light aluminum alloy. I have seen a trend in newer MTB and BMX bikes, to have limited active recoil. The PeakRider changes the game by providing the protective suspension needed for safety and better performance. If you need a seatpost I would recommend PeakRider highly.UNBIASED - Amazon Vine reviewers are not paid for reviews, be it positive or negative. I will never recommend a product I would not buy myself. I treat ALL vendors with respect and fairness but my duty is to You, the Amazon customer. I am an Amazon customer too. I have every reason to be sincere in my reviews. If it is junk or treasure my reviews will reflect the products, I give my word of honor. I don’t want any reviews of mine to read like an ad but anyone who has written reviews knows, it is hard to not get sucked into writing in that style, if it is a great product and most are, then we are so enthused about the products and want to scream it to everyone, “Hey, this is a great product”. So in my view, that is why some reviews may sound like ads.I want to say, I encourage you as an interested customer, to ask me questions about the product and I will do my very best to answer each and every one of you. Amazon reviewers can write our views anyway we feel about any product; all we wish to do is help.A reviewer on a social platform often states, “He does not trust Amazon Reviews”. The gentleman is a great reviewer and makes very high quality content, however in this case I disagree strongly. Amazon reviews are dependable and useful. However, use common sense the lower the number of reviews the less accurate the score is. Products that are “Amazon Choice” have always been a winning selection for me. The Amazon review scoring system, lets you know what customers and reviewers like and dislike about the product you are considering purchasing.I cannot state this enough but Amazon Vine reviewers have no reason or encouragement to favor or disfavor any product. Reviews are not edited by Amazon, unless they violate community policy, for example profanity etc., Amazon does not edit reviewers. The comment about Amazon reviews being questionable is somewhat debatable. I assume the comment made by the non-Amazon reviewer is referring to Amazon Vine reviews. I can’t speak for no one but myself, but if the day would ever come that I thought I was obligated to writing ads, I would move on. Amazon knows the value of customer satisfaction and wants to weed out any products that do not live up to advertising claims. Again if you have a question, please let me help.

Make sure you check the size before ordering . This is my second bike I've ordered this for it is an absolute life saver for my butt and back.

I really appreciate this seat post because it helps soften the ride on those long rides.I have a front suspension bike and ride with a bunch of full suspension bike guys. While the can sit down on those rooty trails I have to either stand or just endure the pain. No longer.Because this seat post has an integrated suspension built right into the post I can have a hybrid “dual” suspension bike. Is it as good as a full suspension bike, no. But can I feel the difference on the trail, yes. And significantly too. Additionally you can adjust the amount of bounce with a simple turn of the knob at the bottom of the post.The build quality is good. It’s all metal and feels very solid. I’m not sure if I’d trust this with hardcore mountain biking with huge jumps but for light to medium riding I’m confident that it’s safe and will hold up.One downside to this post though is the weight. A guess a solid build comes with sacrifice. If you’re a serious rider you probably won’t appreciate the weight. I guess it’s a toss up, weight vs. comfort. Your call.Installation was simple, as long as you know your post diameter, which sadly took me a couple of tries. But once I got the right size it fit like a glove.Overall I’m happy with this seat post and my rides are so much more enjoyable, especially the aftermath.

This is a good value suspension seatpost but with qualifications and reservations. DETAILS HERE. We hope this information is helpful in your decision. Our family has more mountain bikes than family members who ride (mixture of 3 Specialized Stumpys, 2 Treks, 1 Cannondale and others). Some might say I know way more than enough to play a bike mechanic on TV.KEY POINTS:- The spring is more than somewhat on the stiff side. As delivered I would only recommend if the rider weighs 170lbs or more (or maybe 190lbs or more).- The instructions are not completely useless, they actually describe how this works (if it's within a reader's capacity to understand). And they have a diagram of what's inside. We took it apart to see. But some parts of the instructions are not accurate and/or not applicable.- This just has a stacked steel spring and solid elastomer plug spring inside. Therefore this is adjustable for preload only (you cannot change the spring rate like an air suspension). The spring preload can be adjusted by the threaded collar at the top (hand adjustable while installed) or the threaded plug at the bottom (only accessible removed from the bike frame seat tube).- You do not want to loosen the plug at the bottom f the post so more than only a couple full threads are not engaged. The instructions actually say "shall be fully engaged inside the tube".-order the exact size your bike frame needs. If the existing tube is an exact fit just pull it out and check the size stamped on it. bikes have alot of sizes really close together so without special measuring tools it is hard to tell.- this would definitely benefit from a higher quality lubricant/grease.This is a 4 star since if you are looking for something that is robust yet not a high end (high dollar) highly engineered featherweight seatpost, this may suit you (as long as you weigh 190lbs or more). Also remember this pricepoint (about 30 bucks right now) and what this is.We hope this information is helpful in your decision. Cheers ! !

This definitely helps soften the ride, including this with a spring loaded bike seat, and a mid frame suspension and good fork and it absorbs nearly all of the shaking from riding on the road. If your riding your bike for long distances adding multiple forms of suspension is definitely a game changer, your butt feels better, your back feels better, and your hands and arms don't grow tired easily from all the shaking.If you take this on the trails however, I don't think you will see much difference if your jumping your bike from ramp to ramp as your maxing out any shock/spring on every landing, I haven't attempted this yet so I could be wrong, try it out and see.Overall good quality, it dropped right into my bike seat post so its a perfect fit. Its a little shorter than my original seat post but that doesn't bother me much.
