I know this brand since I was a child several ten years ago. This is Japanese brand, made in Taiwan.The design is easy for kids to grab on while writing.24 pcs is good quantity to share with kids classmates.

We homeschool and these are the only mechanical pencils my son likes to use.

Construction is all plastic and not as well constructed as 15-20 years ago when I used to buy them; back in the day the internals were brass with steel tips. However, they are lightweight and the ribbed grip adds to the ergonomics and comfort when writing for long periods of time. Since the construction is all plastic they are relatively pocket friendly since the plastic tip is broader and not so rigid.While I prefer the Pentel Twist-Erase GT, and most of the Twist erase series over the champ they are far more expensive than the Champ. Overall, I highly recommend the Pentel Champ if you are in the market for an affordable mechanical that is lightweight and comfortable for long writing sessions.
