The best reel in my collection. I have it on a Johnny Morris graphite, 7-ft rod and it is perfectly balanced. I was at a fishing expo and the people at the Shimano booth showed me how to adjust the internal brakes. Now when I change lures, jigs, or any terminal tackle, a quick spool tension adjustment is all you need to cast a country mile if you need to. I have 50 lb braid on it and I use a 30 lb fluorocarbon leader for presentation. I leave my boat stick rods at home now! I use this for offshore snapper, amberjack, etc., or tear up the specs and reds inshore. Great Reel!

I bought this reel exclusively for musky fishing. After reading many reviews from many different sources this was the best choice for my price range. The forged aluminum body is exceptionally well made and looks gorgeous. The bearings are buttery smooth and whisper quiet. The drag is extremely easy to use and I love the large rubber grips on the handle. The clicker function is a nice feature for sucker fishing at the end of the season. As someone who has used many different reel companies I can honestly say the Japanese made Shimano reels are some of the best. There is a reason this reel is always rated extremely high from different review sites. Add a nice neoprene cover and this reel will stay looking brand new! Keep it clean and oiled and it will last years and years!

I have other bait casters Shimano and Bass Pro but this it hands down the best. casts great and the reeling action is smooth. It's so beautifully made that I almost don't want to use it and put wear and tear on it. I've been holding off on buying this because it is at the upper end of the price spectrum but I wish I bought it sooner.
