I should start by saying that I run hot. I was also looking for a sun shirt to help protect my skin while out hiking/camping/fishing, etc. and I hoped that I found something that would provide protection but wouldn't be too hot. This does ok at filling that desire. Like most polyester fabrics, this shirt instantly feels warm to me when I put it on, especially if I'm not sweating and having moisture wick away or if I have the sleeves down and buttoned. There are some vents and there is a mesh canvas kind of backing but for the most part, it does feel warm to me. I saw other reviews saying to order a size up which I did. The torso length is good but the sleeves were slightly too long for me so I think it's fair to order a size up but if you want a more sleek looking silhouette, regular size might be ok. Quality of the shirt was good though. No bad stitching and the pockets and loops all look fine. This shirt will probably need to be ironed after washing as it does hold wrinkles and creases. Overall though it's ok for the price andfunction.

This shirt let's air breathe through it so it doesn't get too hot. Plus I like the way it looks. The material is resistant to tears from rubbing up against the brush so it's pretty strong. I'd get this again for sure!

This shirt packs very well. It's light, water and sun-resistant. The velcro pockets are helpful to keep things put when working around the water. The sizing runs a little tight. The fabric is stretchable, but scratchy to wear without a t-shirt underneath. It might be OK when 100% submerged (underwater), though I have yet to test that possibility. The fabric tends to bunch at seams along stitching (button flaps, cuffs, under arms). It's not going to win any awards for classy formal wear. It does do what is advertised, block out the sun and water.

I will start this review by saying that I do not go fishing, but I do spend a lot of time outdoors. And I like shirts that have sun protection built in and are comfortable to wear on both warm and cooler days. This shirt fits that list of requirements very well. You can wear it by itself, roll up the sleeves if it gets warm, or wear it over a t-shirt as a kind of a jacket if you like. It provides good protection, not just from sun, but from wind, and does dry quickly. There is a little velcro strap above the left front pocket that the listing says is for holding a fishing rod, but I use it to hold sunglasses rather than the built-in glasses loop in the center. There is also a small strip of polishing cloth that you can use to keep your glasses streak-free if you remember that it's there. The vents built into the shirt make it very comfortable to wear on most hot days. If you spend a lot of time outdoors, it's definitely good to have one or two shirts like this one in your closet.

Nice styling and design. Highly functional pockets and long sleeves. Size is one-size too small. I normally wear size L for long sleeve shirts. This is actually tight on me and feels like a regular M rather than L. So I am taking off one star for too-small sizes. I am not taking off any stars, but I should note that this shirt has the "slippery" and "hot" feel of typical polyester/synthetic fabrics. I normally prefer the soft and comfortable cotton feel for my clothing and not the synthetic feel. Your mileage may vary here.
