I was able to install a semi-sheer and sheer curtain using these brackets - some reviewers complain about the quality of the hardware but I found it worked well. Note that I got the 3 bracket set - if your windows are wide then I would recommend getting 3 brackets. I tried to use only 2 but the rods I have (light/cheap ones) started to curve in the middle and so I put the 3rd bracket and now it looks perfect. Fairly sturdy although my rods are not super heavy so I can't speak for people who have more heavy-duty rods or heavier curtains. I think having more brackets should solve any weight issues if you plan to have very heavy drapery though. For the rods I used a very cheap one (can be purchased at the hardware store) that may be 3/8 inch diameter for the one closest to window and one that may be 1" or 1.25" diameter (not sure) that I got from home depot. In case that helps - I did not notice any size diff btw the 2 brackets but some other reviewers have said one rod may be smaller so please measure.

Hanging drapes. Very heavy curtain brackets and reasonable price. Very quick on delivery. Thank You

These worked great for what we needed them for. They are holding up a set of sheers and heavy blackout curtains without any issues. We were also able to use the holes from the previous set of brackets which was a bonus.

This item is solid. However, the holes for the screws to connect to the wall are behind the U shaped dips that hold the rods. This makes connecting them to the wall nearly impossible. The bracket legs should be longer so the holes to mount them to the wall can be accessed in a straight manner. Hopefully mine stays in place with the wonky angle the screws had to be put in.

I wanted to upgrade from single to double rod curtains in my room, and wa about to buy a double rod set when I realized, what am I going to do with this perfectly good curtain rod that now has no home? I'm not keen on throwing away things unnecessarily. So instead I bought a thin rod for sheers, got these, and kept the rod that I already have. Not only did it keep a perfectly good metal rod from the dump (I doubt they're actually recycled) but saved me like $20 over buying a double rod set-up.
