I love this hat! It's lightweight and packable (stores flat, but I avoid bending the brim too much.) Provides good shade.

I like this hat. It is very lightweight and airy. I hate the summer, humidity, and hats. Sometimes you gotta wear a hat though. I do mainly to keep the bugs away towards evening but I do need some sun protection too. I treat all my hats with permethrin to keep the bugs away. I like the rear adjuster better than the systems on other Sunday Afternoons hats. You can adjust this while its on your head. I like it more loose when its humid and tighten it up when its more breezy. I did some testing. When I'm in the shade and mainly wearing this hat for bugs, it is reasonably cool. It is better than my Tilley LTM5 for cooling comfort in the shade. The Tilley is heavier and more suffocating on my head. BUT... Move to direct noonday sun and the Tilley gives better protection with its heavier material and styrofoam pad at the top even though it makes me sweat. There is no real summer comfort for me. The thin material on the Cruiser just bakes my scalp if there is no breeze. So think about your use. I'll spare you the details but I took actual temperature readings inside the crown of the hat. We are talking 10 or more degrees cooler on the Cruiser in the shade. This is temperature in the crown warmed only by my hot head. But the Khaki Tilley LTM5 was 20-30 more degrees cooler in the direct sun. The Cruiser was up to 140 at my scalp with no breeze. The olive Tilley was not so dramatic. The dark color for sure absorbs more heat. So anyway, the Cruiser is a good hat for general use but you will feel the heat sitting still in direct sun.

Love the brim wide enough and not floppy! Just wish it came in size small. The medium still a little big for me. Even with the pull cord to adjust.
