This 4K (~8.3 MP) USB webcam is awesome and easy to use.It was plug and play as advertised (no driver install etc. needed) and immediately (after adjusting the manual settings) gave us crystal clear views of birds on our hanging bird feeder from my office window, which is about 20 to 30 ft away from our house.I was able to use the Camera app that comes with Windows 10/11 to take pictures and record video using this webcam. Note that the default resolution is 1080p - but you can change it to 4K in the Camera app settings. The zoom/focal length, aperture/iris (i.e. - brightness sensitivity control), and focus adjustments were very easy to use and intuitive - i.e., note that this webcam/camera only has manual adjustments and no auto-focus. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the depth of field is fairly shallow - but this is normal/expected for a telephoto lens setup. So, if your application involves live subjects that will be consistently changing in distance from the camera by perhaps more than 6-12 in or so, you may want to pursue a different camera that has auto-focus. For our hanging bird feeder application, it's perfect.Great camera at a great price.

I have tested a lot of webcams and this is probably the best USB 2.0 webcam on the market. I threw a 12MP 3.2mm 1/1.7" cs mount lens on it, a moderate amount of daylight light bulbs, and it's nice and sharp with very little noise.

Me parece buena la cámara. Pero en el momento de transmitir por internet se congela. Lo estoy trabajando en OBS y aún no logro descifrar por qué sucede. Si alguien ya lo resolvió, pido que me indique qué hizo. Gracias.

I am using the camera to view a television about 15' away. For this limited application has worked very well. The camera is on 24/7. Reliable. No overheating, shutdowns or other problems. The zoom focus is difficult to hold as one tightens the lock screw on the ring, but it is doable. Able to get sharp focus. Also has an adjustment to narrow width of view.I am using to see what is on a tv that I can remotely control Roku with app over the internet. I need to be able to see what is on the TV. I use this to remotely help my F-I-L watch Roku programming. He has some cognitive decline and gets lost trying to maneuver through roku menus with his remote.

It does the job well enough but I can't get the auto focus to work. I have this monitoring my cnc router so I can step away and the image is nice, but I had to put it in the best spot to see the cuts because it wouldn't give a good focal point, even when I put my face in the spot I wanted it to focus

Original review:Maybe once you reach a certain age, you simply aren't meant to understand how this stuff is supposed to work. Connecting to desktop PC via USB, was able to get an image up but a very poor one - hardly 4K quality. Also, no sound on all attempted recordings so I had to go find a microphone. Of course, that didn't work either, couldn't get any attempted recordings to play back sound. Often a lag between real time and projected image. As typical with products from this "source," instructions in very poor English and generally hard to understand. In short, useless.Maybe it's my PC - I still have Windows 7 because I refuse to go along with their planned obsolescence scam and upgrade the operating system. Probably crash my PC attempting it with my luck. Anyway...probably a decent unit for someone with the hardware and know-how to make it work. But a big zero for me!UPDATE:I got a rather intense reply from the seller, pointing out that they never claimed it came with a microphone. NOTE - I never said they claimed that, I simply pointed out that it didn't have one which is an absolutely true fact. Many webcams come with a mic and thus don't require a second one. I think this is noteworthy. They also pointed out that if I don't have 4K resolution on my PC, I wouldn't get 4K quality image. Of course I understand that also - this wasn't 4K, or 1080, or anything close to it. The image I saw was grainy and very poor. Again, just reporting my feedback as honestly as possible which I thought was the point of the exercise.Lastly, they asked me to revise my review, verbatim including bad grammar and misspellings for authenticity: "We would apprecicate if you could make a more fair and neutrality evaluation on it." I thought sellers weren't supposed to ask for this, nor expect a review to be amended even after a resolution is attempted and/or successful.I've upgraded the review by 1 star because I'm a nice guy. Bottom line, it's still back in its box and that's where it will stay for the foreseeable future. I had better success with another webcam w/ integrated mic. But maybe I was unfair to give them 1 star, some of the issues may be with me or my equipment. Fair enough. Buy it if you want to!
