This is not the same product and it’s definitely smaller than described. I’m 6’ 2” and 240 and can barely get into this and do anything with it. My daughter is 19yrs old and can’t do what she would want to using this. Do not recommend. Sending this back. And there’s no odour. Product was in excellent condition, just not as shown.

The sleeves where the weights slide in are too small and the weights wobble, the sleeves need to be a larger diameter but the bar still functions. I may add tape around the sleeves to pick up the slack but it’s quite a bit of slack

I purchased this 7kg hex bar as I just need something light to start my routine with in order to build up lower back strength so I can maintain good posture and muscle tone heading into my senior years, and I find a straight bar is just too uncomfortable for deadlifting. I have only used it once so far and only added 40 lbs. of weight to it for my final set of 15 reps. I also left the back half of the bar off when I assembled it so I have an open trap bar I can do lunges with as well, or swing it forward after the dead lift and add a shoulder press to the motion. It becomes a very versatile piece of equipment that way. The bar is still solid with the back half left off, but I imagine at some point if I start adding enough weight I may have to add the back half to make it more solid. But then again, if you're looking for a fully enclosed bar right from the get-go, and more weight isn't an issue, just buy the heavier models that Synergee offers which are built as one solid piece. I also made a 6 inch high platform out of 2 X 6 lumber with 3/4 inch plywood top to stand on when doing deadlift reps. That way you can squat lower before the weight touches the floor, and that extra bit sure adds a lot to the exercise, making your lower back work harder over a longer range of motion. But if you're just starting deadlifts, you probably don't need that. Something to think about as you progress though. If/when you do start using a platform, make sure it's solid; you don't want it collapsing or tipping over during your deadlift. You could really hurt yourself. Make sure you use a good pair of leather work gloves for the deadlift, and some wrist straps if you start lifting heavy. You got to protect your hands when you lift, you don't want to have issues with your hands as you age, especially if you're still a wannabe guitar player like myself. One small complaint. I've got some of the Synergee short exercise bars and really like them, and they come branded with the Synergee name. This bar has no branding on it. I'd like to see them add their name to it for a more professional look.To sum up, I'm really happy with this bar. If you've got lower back issues and need to strengthen your back, core, and legs, you can't go wrong getting it and including deadlifts in your fitness routine. Work it hard, but then stay still and lay down a little during the day for the next couple days to let your back recover and strengthen. Don't just do your workout and head out on the town or carry on with your regular activities like when you were a youngster. Don't slouch on the couch either, get a good office chair that will help train you to maintain good posture. That's the only reason for lifting as you get older, so you can stay upright and keep moving as long as you can.

4 of the bolts were too short, but will work. Would have been nice to see grade 8 bolts used. Missing some washers in the package and the finish will definitely not last. That all being said it does seem to work fine for basic home use and I wasn't looking to spend a bunch of money on one. Get what you pay for.
