Since I switched from sticky back paper to hook and loop, these blocks have been heaven-sent. Now, all we need is the clean-sanding version of the set and life will be perfect.

Wow, these Volsive sanding blocks have some super grip hook&loop system installed on them. I really had to peel a piece of mesh sandpaper off, and it wasn’t easy.As a woodworker I normally use orbital sanders, but every so often I need to use sanding blocks. Some examples would be: sanding into corners since orbital sanders are round and don’t fit into corners, or when I really want to protect the corners and not round them over. I used some of these Volsive sanding blocks to sand the primer paint on the kitchen cabinet doors that I made to update our kitchen. Normally I wouldn’t sand primer, but my wife and I really want the cabinets doors to be flat (I’m using a HVLP mini mite sprayer). The Volsive sanding blocks worked great. Whenever I noticed a little build up of dust on the mesh, I would just hit the block against the floor and the dust would mostly leave saving me a lot of time. The blocks are made from medium density polyurethane foam and are stiff, but I could bend them between my hands using some force. Therefore, they aren’t solid, but pretty close, so they won’t form fit around different profiles like a soft sanding sponge would do. These were also made more for function, rather than ergonomics. Some of the blocks do have finger holds running along the sides, some do not. Plus, there’s no palm type rest to help with all day sands (or a few hours).Overall this is a nice well-made set of standard type sanding blocks.

Review: VOLSIVE 7pcs Hand Sanding Block SetI have either held sandpaper in my hand and fingers to sand tight places or used those expensive foam sanding blocks. I have some other types of attachments, but I can't control them as well since most don't have square corners and many of them can't be precise as I would like. On several occasions I have finished my work with an extra blister or two from holding the paper in my fingers. I do have a small sanding block very similar to these that I absolutely love. It is so small and narrow though. It takes a long time just to sand a small area. When I saw these, I knew I had to get them. They are the best. I have tried each one now. They feel so good in my hand, almost like they were made special for me. The grip on each block is cushy and comfortable but sufficiently firm to grip and control. It allows a little pressure without feeling like you are holding a hard sanding block. The hook and loop on this set are some of the strongest I have ever used too. When I initially took them out of the box to take some photos, I set them on my carpet, a big mistake on my part. They held extremely tight. The bond was so strong it was pulling on my carpet threads, so I had to be overly careful. Don't do what I did. I had to slowly pry them up and set them on a box to take my photos. I was incredibly happy when I finally put sandpaper on them. The sandpaper stayed where I applied it and didn't slide or move around at all. And NO BLISTERS! See photos for a very detailed close-up of the hook and loop. This set will now be my go-to sanding block set for my woodworking. You won't go wrong with these!
