It worked on my 2013 jk wrangler. You just need to bring it to a professional to have it programmed with one of those computers that you plug into the cars OBD plug

I had the dealer cut the key for me ($10) and with proof of registration and my id they gave me the PIN code for my vehicle. I was able to program it with the Autel scanner we have at the school where I teach.

Tried to program it with my Jeep using the 2 original keys. Could not get it to work even though I followed the instructions given by the seller's website. Contacted the seller who insisted that only a locksmith can program it. Eventually I took it to a locksmith but even he was unsuccessful. Thankfully he charged me only half price since could not program it.I can not return it since I got the key cut to be able to try the programming.Lesson learned.

After receiving this key/fob, I took it to a local Ace Hardware store that had a specialized computer laser key cutting machine designed for modern car keys with fobs. It was cut perfectly to match, and they just charged me for a double-sided key cut - $3.89. I tried a couple different programming procedures that I found on the web using the two factory keys -- but they didn't work. I finally found this procedure on YouTube that did work on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara .Step 1. Insert one factory, key turn ignition to on position (don't start car) for five seconds. Turn key off and remove.Step 2. Insert second factory key, again turn ignition to on position for 5 seconds, then hold gas pedal to the floor. turn the key to off and remove it while still holding gas pedal to the floor.Step 3. Insert new key and turn to on position it should program within a few seconds. Release gas pedal. If the new key doesn't work at this point, repeat the steps. After this procedure, the key worked perfectly for the ignition, and all fob functions including the remote start function. If you don't do the programming, the car will start but will turn off almost immediately and the fob functions will not work.As a side note, since most cars these days require two factory keys to program a third, I strongly recommend getting a third key like this made up -- and using it as your primary key so you can always get a third key made up cheaply using the two factory keys. If you have two factory keys and lose one, it becomes very difficult and expensive to get a spare made - usually a dealer or locksmith is needed and the cost will be $150 at minimum. This key (with cutting cost) was only around $20.

All the tricks & tips from the other people that commented worked perfectly.(Thank you if u are reading this✌🏼)As I didn’t have a second original key, I programmed mine with JScan and my OBDlink device.Quick, easy and the keys (I bought x2) both work perfectly including the remote start. Are the keys as good as the originals, quality wise?, no but, very close & I saved myself $325, they work great. 5stars. Highly recommend them. 👍🏻
