Don't even mess with aftermarket brands. I have 2 cats that shed and in AZ with all the dry dusty dirt and high winds. Tried aftermarket ones due to being half the price of OEM and you get 2. Our eyes kept itching and we kept sneezing all the time as well as our toddlers.Switched back to OEM and noticed INSTANTLY a cleaner smell in the rooms after a couple hours of use. Upon swapping the aftermarket ones out, I noticed the OEMs have DOUBLE the pleats the aftermarket. So yeah, you're paying less, but you're getting less. NOW, did they work? Yes, they sure did, were jammed packed full of dust/dirt/hair.So if you don't have allergy problems, or pets, you're more than likely to not have issues with the aftermarket ones. Otherwise, bite the bullet and pay the higher price and get OEM.

These quality filters really pull in the dust and little tiny bugs. They are sturdy and last for months. They seem expensive but really they are a good value for the money. I always buy these filters.

These filters are amazing! They are super easy to remove and/or replace. I have to be honest, my original filter that came with the unit is still going strong after a year of using it just about everyday.I have vacuumed it inside and out at least once a month since I bought it a year ago.I just bought a genuine Levoit filter for my unit to replace the original one. There is nothing wrong with the original one I just felt that after a year I should replace it. We have two Australian Shepherds, one cat and this big unit covers 3,000 sq. ft and has been downstairs in a 2200 sq. ft house. It removes all odors from cooking (bacon/ prime Rib roasting at high heat),fireplace smoke and even the noxious fumes that come out of the backside of our grand Aussie when he visits. You can't go wrong with Levoit. We have two smaller units for bedrooms that cover 300 sq.ft and those filters are amazing as well. I highly reccomend this product.

These filters work great. All over the house, this replacement is in the den where the fireplace is (used daily) and there is definitely a difference in dust and smell. Yeah it's expensive but buy the cheaper ones, you can tell by looking at the filter media and the weight substantially less material is used for the filtering media. I might use them in bedrooms but not for smoke or VOCs.

I have purchased the smoke remover filter along the normal and the toxin filter as well, all seemed to me sufficient however I came to a conclusion that the normal filter can do just as the same as the other ones so spare the extra dollars
