I haven't yet used this but I'm really hopeful that it will make the job of installing a mailbox post easier and that it will hold up. It's a very solid thick metal. Very nice quality and durable! I'll update how well it works once installed. It comes with thick bolts to secure the part the wood goes into to the bottom part that you put in the ground. That part is about 18" long and tapers down to a point to make it easier to go in the ground. I'm concerned since it's only about 18" long that it won't hold the heavy post in the ground unless you put concrete in once installed. It has an opening at the top and mentions that the holes are for concrete but I think you would have to dig to be able to properly pour in concrete. I don't know. We'll see.

This is easy to install and the instructions are clear. Be aware that you will need to have a short section of 4x4 post to pound on when installing since no short 4x4 piece is included. I used a sledge hammer to install and it went in with no problem at all.

Took me a while but I finally installed this anchor for the mailbox.Installation wasn't bad.I hammered the anchor all the way down and it wasn't that difficult.Seems very sturdy. I think this mailbox won't be uprooted anytime soon.I gave this 5 stars because I didn't have to pour concrete for the post which is a huge plus.This was a 4x4 anchor post for $20 which is a fair deal.

This is great for a mailbox that keeps getting hit. This will pull out of the ground instead of the post snapping so it's much easier to repair after a strike. Easy to hammer in a bolt a 4x4 into
